PENNY MUDFORD

Penny Mudford is an arbitrator, mediator and consultant in dispute resolution. She is an Arbitration Fellow with the Arbitrator’s and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand Inc., a member of the National Panel of Conciliators under the Sharemilking Agreements Order 2001, a member of the AMINZ Panel of Mediators, and a mediator with the Domain Name Commission.

Other positions currently held are chairman of the Liquor Promotions Complaints Board, deputy chairman of the Electrical Workers Registration Board, council member on the Veterinary Council of New Zealand, managing director of Resolution World Ltd, and chairman of a digital printing company based in Wellington.

Penny is a former CEO of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand Inc.. Prior to 2000 she was a dairy farmer and operated a dispute resolution practice specialising in rural disputes. She is a Kellogg Scholar with the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme at Lincoln University and has held various appointments in the agriculture sector: as a Provincial President for Federated Farmers; on various committees of some of New Zealand’s former co-operative dairy companies; a member of the Government’s Appeals Committee for the MAF Agricultural Recovery Programme of 2004; and, on the 2003 Ministerial Committee on land access.
