Key Definitions

The Construction Contracts Act 2002 contains numerous definitions which are important to understand if you are engaged in or advising parties to construction contracts in New Zealand.

The definitions include those which assist parties to understand their rights and obligations such as those in relation to the payment process, definitions which are 'administrative' in nature including definitions as to 'workindg days' and 'service of documents' and those which expand on concepts within the Act such as 'construction work', 'residential occupier' and 'associate'
