Peter Phillips


Peter is a self-employed Quantity Surveyor/Dispute Consultant specialising in dispute resolution (arbitration/mediation/adjudication) in the construction industry based in Tauranga.

He has spent over forty five years dealing with all facets of quantity surveying activities (feasibility studies, estimates of cost, preparing schedules of quantities, variation accounts, payment valuations, increased costs, final accounts, cost control, cost analysis, insurance valuations, etc) with experience gained from employment with a sub-contractor, a principal building contractor and several consultant Quantity Surveying practices.

Peter also has had experience in conducting arbitrations/mediations/adjudications to resolve construction disputes (commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, residential) since 1979. Peter was an Accredited Arbitrator to the Master Builders’ Association (Auckland) Inc from 1987 until 1991,and is a Fellow (founding member) of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand.

As an ex Aucklander, Peter remains available for Auckland appointments, making no charge for travelling time or expenses incurred in commuting from Tauranga as required.
